| Inaugurated in 2003, the Jugra Cup marked the
creation of the Premier Cruising Class in the Raja Muda Selangor
International Regatta reflecting the growing appeal of the Regatta
to this class of yachts. The title "Jugra" is derived
part from the name of the yacht in which, the Regatta patron
then, His Highness The Raja Muda Of Selangor (now His Royal
Highness The Sultan Of Selangor) circumnavigated the world from
1996 to 1997 and in part from the former royal capital of Selangor
state located on Jugra hill, a landmark well known to navigation.
It is awarded to the overall winning boat in the Premier Cruising
Class in the Regatta. |
