PORT KLANG - ROYAL SELANGOR YACHT
CLUB
RSYC is approximately one
hour from downtown Kuala Lumpur by taxi or by commuter train
from the nearby station and an enjoyable day can be spent
in Kuala Lumpur, visiting the world's two tallest buildings,
museums and the historic colonial quarter.
There is a good availability of both basic chandlery items
and of boat repair capabilities including slipways. For more

PANGKOR ISLAND
A charming tropical island with many good anchorages, including
Pasir Bogak in front of the Sea View Hotel. The spot is conveniently
afforded some protection from the weather by the smaller,
luxury resort island of Pangkor Laut.
The whole island can be explored by taxi or hired moped within
a couple of hours. Diesel, petrol and a limited range of food
supplies are available in the charming main village some ten
minutes away by taxi on the other side of the island. There
are a few small workshops servicing the local fishing fleet
if any repairs or supplies are required. For more information,

PENANG
It is a short taxi ride from the anchorage to the downtown
hotel base of the Regatta in the heart of Georgetown. Penang,
known as the "Pearl of the Orient" is the oldest
British settlement in Malaysia and still has a wealth of historic
charm with its majestic colonial buildings, traditional shophouses,
colourful temples and colonial era hill stations.
Penang offers superb tourist shopping opportunities and great
local food. It has well equipped supermarkets and a reasonable
selection of basic chandlery items. Yacht repair facilities

ROYAL
LANGKAWI YACHT CLUB
Langkawi is an up and coming
resort island attracting many yachtsmen due to its excellent
sailing conditions, stunning scenery, duty free status and its
many marinas.
A tour around the island is very worthwhile, including going
up the cable car to enjoy the view across the island to Thailand.
The roads are well marked and hire cars are around RM70 per
day.
Approximately 2km away from the Club is Langkawi Fair Shopping
Mall with a supermarket, reasonably priced grog supplies and
inexpensive souvenirs. A little further away is the main shopping
area of Kuah town, which has a wide variety of tourist souvenir
and other shops.
Marine repair (including slipway) facilities are available but
