From
17th to 25th November, undoubtedly one of the most eventful
in the living memory, the 11th Raja Muda International
Regatta was coloured by many thrills and spills and
heightened by uncharacteristically gusty winds.
Unprecedented strong wind with
long tight reaching legs aroused much interest and the
showdown at high noon on Bass Harbour for the racing
classes, graced in royal fashion by the Raja Muda of
Selangor to witness the final races and the presentation
of his prestigious trophy at the gala awards ceremony
at the beautiful and now Royal Langkawi Yacht Club.
In a conclusion, the yachting
duel in Bass Harbour started with a bang and the successful
conclusions of the RMIR 2000 should be truly a reason
to celebrate.
